week 7 National Archives Visit

National Archives visit was the best trip ever.

You could spend your whole life working there and never see all the brilliant maps, ancient scrolls, papers, journals and historic collections that are there. Two words mind- boggling!

We were so lucky to see and handle such important documents that make up our history. Thanks to two very helpful, knowledgeable ladies from the Archive, Rachael and Hannah.

I have uploaded a few of the images i took on the day.

Above is an example of one of the many old textile samples they hold from yesteryear. A peek at the thousands of ancient naval maps the National Archives store.

We also got to see something very unique which is normally kept in a safe room and not publicly available. Some of the letters sent to the police and newspapers from the time of Jack the Ripper.
